Mumbai, Dec 11 (IBNS): Creating history, Indian skipper Virat Kohli on Sunday scored a double century against England on the fourth day of the fourth Test at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Kohli became the first Indian captain to have made such a remarkable achievement.

At lunch on Day 4 of the 4th Test, Team India are at 579/7 with Virat at 212*, Jayant at 92*.

The 28-year-old skipper has scored three double centuries in the same year.

The first two had been scored against West Indies and New Zealand.

Tiger Pataudi, Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni have as well scored a double ton each as India captains.

But Virat Kohli is the only Indian skipper to have bagged three double tons as a captain.
