Virat Kohli, Indian spinners help India take 3-0 lead in series, beat South Africa by 124 runs

Cape Town, Feb 8 (IBNS): Virat Kohli smashed a century and spinners performed their job perfectly as India defeated South Africa by 124 runs in the third ODI match of the six-match series here on Wednesday.

After posting mammoth 303 runs for the loss of six wickets, India bowlers did their task as they bowled out South Africa for 179 runs.

The inexperienced batting lineup crumbled after Hashim Amla departed after contributing only 1 runs with his willow.

Captain

Aiden Markram (32) and JP Duminy (51) remained the only positive spots in an otherwise blunt performance by the South African batting side.


David Miller added just 25 runs as South Africa once again struggled to face Indian wrist spinners.

Indian spinning guns-Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav- won hearts again by taking four wickets each to destroy the opponent batting lineup.

Bumrah picked up two wickets.

Earlier, riding on skipper Virat Kohli's 34th century, India posted massive 303 runs for the loss of six wickets in the third ODI against South Africa.

South Africa earlier won the toss and opted to bowl first.

Kohli hammered unbeaten 159-ball 160 as he smashed 12 boundaries and two sixes in his memorable knock in front of the South African crowd.

Shikhar Dhawan added 76 runs with his willow.

JPDuminy picked up trow wickets for South Africa.

India are 3-0 up in the six-match series.
