Doha: Argentina star Lionel Messi's goal went in vain as Saudi Arabia stunned the football giants 2-1 in a Group C match of the World Cup here on Tuesday.

Messi provided Argentina an early lead in the 10th minute of the game.

He scored the goal via a penalty.

However, the match witnessed a massive turnaround sooner when Saudi Arabia scored twice to leave fans shocked.

Saleh Al Shehri and then Salem Al Dawsari were the two scorers for Saudi.

The match will be remembered as one of the biggest upsets to have occurred in the ongoing World Cup tournament.
