World Cup: Switzerland beat Serbia 2-1

Kaliningrad, June 23 (IBNS):  Xherdan Shaqiri scored a late goal which helped Switzerland beat Serbia 2-1 in a World Cup group stage match here on Friday.

Aleksandar Mitrovic earlier provided a lead in the match.

A  long range strike by Granit Xhaka in the 52nd minute of the match equalised the score.

Shaqiri managed to script a victory for the Swiss team with a late minute goal in the 90th minute.

Switzerland earned four points from two games.
