England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and elected to bat first in the day-night match, which is one of the last few international encounters ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025.

Yashasvi made the debut for India in absence of Virat Kohli, who missed the first ODI due to a sore right knee.

"It's very unfortunate," said India captain Rohit Sharma speaking on Kohli's absence.

India are taking on England in the first ODI in Nagpur after clinching the five-match T20I series overwhelmingly 4-1.
