You will never be forgotten: Virat Kohli tweets mourning Milkha Singh's demise

Southampton: Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli on Saturday mourned the death of legendary athlete Milkha Singh and said his legacy inspired a whole nation to aim for excellence.

"A legacy that inspired a whole nation to aim for excellence. To never give up and chase your dreams. Rest in Peace #MilkhaSingh ji . You will never be forgotten," Kohli tweeted.

Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Saturday directed the state government to accord a state funeral to the legendary Milkha Singh.

He also announced one-day state mourning today.

'The Flying Sikh' passed away here at PGIMER late last night after struggling with post-Covid complications.

Singh rose to international fame and brought several laurels for the country in Asian and Commonwealth Games.
