7-day mandatory home quarantine for passengers arriving in Mumbai from UAE

| @indiablooms | Dec 30, 2021, at 05:24 am

Mumbai/IBNS: All international passengers arriving from the United Arab Emirates to Mumbai will have to undergo a mandatory seven-day quarantine, the city's civic body said on Wednesday.

This comes as airports across the world see a massive holiday rush despite fears over the Omicron variant's spread.

Last week, the civic body had made RT-PCR Covid tests mandatory for passengers landing in the city from Dubai.

The same has now been extended to the entire UAE.

Mumbai has been witnessing a spike in Covid cases as the city logged 2,510 fresh infections in the last 24 hours, an 82 percent jump over Tuesday's cases.

To check the rise in cases amid New Year's celebrations, all public places across the city will remain shut on Dec 31.
