Big boost for flyers in 2026! IndiGo launches direct Delhi–London Heathrow flights from this date

Private airline major IndiGo on Wednesday announced the launch of new direct flights between Delhi and London (Heathrow), effective February 2.

The airline will operate the route five times a week using Boeing 787 aircraft taken on a wet/damp lease from Norse Atlantic Airways. The flights will feature a dual-class configuration, offering IndiGoStretch and Economy Class.

IndiGo currently operates daily direct flights between Mumbai and London Heathrow. With the addition of the Delhi–London service, the airline will now operate a total of 12 weekly flights to London.

The new route marks a continued expansion of IndiGo’s international connectivity from the national capital, following the recent launch of direct flights from Delhi to Denpasar (Bali), Krabi, Hanoi, Guangzhou, and Manchester. The airline has also announced plans to introduce direct flights to Athens starting January 2026.

As part of its broader internationalisation strategy, IndiGo has added 10 new international destinations and launched more than 30 new international routes from various points in India over the past 12 months.

Commenting on the expansion, IndiGo Chief Executive Officer Pieter Elbers said, “We are pleased to introduce direct flights between Delhi and London, offering more travel options between India and the United Kingdom. This follows the recent launch of our direct flights from Mumbai to London, and services from Delhi and Mumbai to Manchester.

“This new service is expected to support the growing demand for travel between the two cities for commerce, tourism, and visiting family and friends. IndiGo remains committed to making international travel seamless and more accessible, while strengthening connectivity between India and key global destinations,” he added.
