IndiGo expands international operations with Colombo as its 49th destination

Mumbai, Dec 14 (IBNS): IndiGo airline has announced Colombo as its 8th international and 49th overall destination on its 6E network. 

The new schedule will see non-stop connections between Colombo to Chennai and Bengaluru, effective January 20, 2018. 

Booking has been on open with attractive starting fare of Rs 3599 (ex-Chennai) and Rs 5999 (ex-Bengaluru).

"With this addition, both corporate and leisure passengers travelling to and from Colombo will get the  opportunity to experience the on-time, affordable and a hassle-free travel experience that IndiGo is synonymous with," a company statement claimed.

These new flights will further consolidate IndiGo’s position as the fastest growing airline in India with 149 Airbus A320 and three ATR aircraft strong fleet, operating over 1000 daily flights, connecting 49 destinations w.e.f January 20, 2018.

Speaking on the launch, Aditya Ghosh, President and Whole Time Director, IndiGo said, “As one of the most sought after destinations in South Asia, Colombo draws visitors from across the globe for its fine blend of tradition and culture. It gives us immense pleasure to add Colombo as our 49th destination and cater to the needs of both business as well as leisure travellers. We aspire to continue providing affordable and hassle-free travel experience to our passengers within and beyond India.”
