Malaysia, a Southeast Asian country, plans to ban the entry of nationals from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan. The country has already banned flights from India, reported Dhaka Tribune.

The country’s Defense Minister Ismail Sabri said they are planing on the ban. He, however, didn’t reveal when it would come into effect. Kaula Lampur, its capital, has been put under lockdown as the country witnessed a surge in cases.

The country has recently detected the presence of a highly infectious variant that is raging in India. South Asia has been seeing a surge in cases, and several countries have already announced similar flight ban on these countries.
