Afghanistan: 23 militants killed

Kabul, Jan 21 (IBNS) At least 23 militants have been killed during militant operations in Afghanistan's Tashguzar area, media reports said on Wednesday.

District head Imamuddin Quraishi told Pajhwok Afghan News 23 militants including their four commanders had been killed during clashes with security personnel in Tashguzar area.

He told the Afghan  news agency that four army and local police personnel were also killed in the firefights that left six policemen and 10 insurgents injured.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid told the agency that the militants had overrun four check posts during the attacks and killed 13 security personnel.
