Afghanistan: Explosion hits Kandahar, four killed

Kandahar, Mar 17 (IBNS): At least four people were killed when an explosion hit Afghanistan's  Kandahar province on Saturday evening, media reports said on Sunday.

The explosion was triggered due to IED blast, reports said.

Kandahar Police Chief Gen. Tadin Khan said Haji Zemarai, Commander of Public Protection Forces Unit in Kandahar was among the victims of the attack, reported Tolo News.

Sources, however, told TOLOnews that only two of the victims were civilians and the two others were security commanders.

Sources further told the Afghanistan-based news portal that in addition to Zemarai, another police commander Mullah Gul was killed in the explosion.
