America to send special troops to counter ISIS in Syria

| | Oct 31, 2015, at 06:31 pm
Washington, Oct 31 (IBNS) In a move to redeem Syria from the Islamic State, US President Barrack Obama on Friday administered special troops to Syria to fight, assist and train combative forces opposing the ISIS, according to the White House.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest in his statement to media-persons here said that the US would be sending less than fifty troops to Kurdish controlled land in Northern Syria. These special troops will then train and fight alongside the Kurdish militants in a quest to drive away the Islamic State.

"The President does expect that they can have an impact in intensifying our strategy for building the capacity of local forces inside of Syria for taking the fight on the ground to ISIL in their own country," Earnest said, while adding, "That has been the core element of the military component of our strategy from the beginning: building the capacity of local forces on the ground."

Though the country is sending its troops, the spokesman insisted that they have no such combative mission.

"These forces do not have a combat mission." Earnest said.
