Bangladesh: Police arrest 45 Rohingyas from Chittagong

Dhaka: Bangladesh police have arrested 45 Rohingyas from Sonaichhari union under Sitakunda upazila in Chittagong area of the country, media reports said on Wednesday.

Sitakunda police said all the arrestees are male, between 18 to 25 years of age. They were arrested for intruding into Bangladesh from Maungdaw in Myanmar, reported Dhaka Tribune.

Shamim Sheikh, officer-in-charge (Investigation) of Sitakunda police station, confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune.

He said a case was filed against the arrested people under the Foreigners Act.
