COVID-19 positive Bangladeshi doctor dies

Dhaka/IBNS: A Bangladeshi doctor, who had tested positive for COVID-19, has died, media reports said on Monday.

Dr Md Moniruzzaman, who had been serving Anwer Khan Modern Hospital after retiring from the army, was declared dead after he was taken to the Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka, reported bdnews24.

Moniruzzaman, a haematologist and laboratory medicine specialist, had suffered from fever and cold for two days, Joint Secretary Rahat Anwar Chowdhury of Foundation for Doctors Safety Rights and Responsibilities was quoted as saying by the newsportal.

Seven other members of his family have also tested positive for COVID-19.

Bangladesh reported 177 COVID-19 deaths till Sunday.
