Taipei, Aug 11 (Xinhua/UNI) A total of 11 people, including five tourists from the Chinese mainland, were injured Sunday as a tour bus collided with a sport utility vehicle (SUV) in Ali Mountain, a famous tourist destination in central south Taiwan, authorities said.

The two vehicles were both damaged during the accident, which was likely caused by slippery roads in rainy weather, said firefighting authorities of Chiayi County, which administers the Ali Mountain area.

The tour bus was carrying 16 tourists organized by a travel agency in Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi Province in the northwest of the mainland, confirmed the mainland-based Association For Tourism Exchange across the Taiwan Strait.

The injured also included driver of the tour bus and five people on the SUV, according to the association.

The injured have been sent to hospital and the rest of the tourists continued their schedules in Taiwan. Local police are investigating cause of the accident.
