Hamid Mir's brother Amir Mir has accused Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Chief Lt. Gen. Zaheerul Islam's involvement in the attack on the celebrity journalist in Karachi on Saturday.

Amir Mir said  Hamid Mir had earlier disclosed to him as to where to point finger if he was attacked.

“ISI Chief had worked out my assassination plot,” journalist Amir Mir told Geo News quoting  Hamid Mir.

"In case of an attack ISI Chief Zaheerful Islam and some other officials of ISI will be responsible," he said.

Amir Mir told Geo News: “Some elements of ISI harbor extreme hostility against me for my opinion, views and stance on Pervez Musharraf and issues of Balochistan.”

Reacting to the incident,  cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan tweeted: " Shocked & saddened by attack on Hamid Mir in Karachi.Strongly condemn growing threats/attacks on journalists. Govt must ensure their safety."
