London, May 20 (IBNS): The British Royal Family has thanked everyone for their support, following the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on Saturday.

The mega event at Windsor Castle was attended by 200 of the royal couple's closest friends and relatives.

Thanking them, the Twitter account of the Royal Family read: "Thank you to everyone who came to Windsor and those who followed from around the UK, the Commonwealth, and the world today. Congratulations once again to the newly-married Duke and Duchess of Sussex. #royalwedding."

According to the BBC, over 13 million people watched the programme live on TV.

Following their wedding, Harry and Meghan will now be formally known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Reports have stated that the Duke of Sussex has gifted his wife an emerald-cut aquamarine ring, which belonged to Diana, Princess of Wales, Harry's late mother.

The royal couple, who spent the night at Windsor Castle, will not be leaving for their honeymoon soon.
