Inside the Balochistan attacks: How six Pakistani soldiers lost their lives in one day!

| @indiablooms | Dec 23, 2025, at 05:36 pm

The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for killing six Pakistani soldiers in three separate attacks in the Quetta, Kachhi, and Kech districts, according to media reports.

In a statement to the media, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said fighters carried out a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED) attack in the Daghari area on the outskirts of Quetta on Friday, reported The Balochistan Post. The device targeted army personnel “sitting in a gathering after clearing a railway track,” killing four soldiers instantly and injuring two others.

Local sources had earlier told The Balochistan Post that an explosion near Sherdil Stop, close to Daghari Cross, struck a team clearing the railway track, with initial reports suggesting several casualties.

According to the BLA, a second attack took place the same evening in the Kalamuddin area of Dhadar, Kachhi district. Fighters reportedly used automatic weapons and rockets to target soldiers as they left their post, inflicting “casualties among the enemy army.”

The BLA’s third attack targeted a Pakistani Army post in Saami at night.

What is the Balochistan Liberation Army?

The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) is a separatist militant group. In 2025, the U.S. Department of State designated the BLA, along with its alias, the Majeed Brigade, as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO). The Majeed Brigade was also added as an alias under the BLA’s existing Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) designation.
