Uzbek Islamic Movement leader killed during operation: Afghanistan Defence Ministry confirms

Kabul: The Afghanistan Ministry of Defence on Thursday said Aziz Yuldash, leader of Uzbekistan Islamic Movement, was killed during an ANDSF operation in Ghormach district of the country.

The Ministry said Aziz Yuldash's son was hurt during the operation.

Aziz Yuldash had been involved in terrorist attacks and slaughter of Afghans in the northern provinces, the Ministry said.

The Ministry tweeted: "Aziz Yuldash, leader of Uzbekistan Islamic Movement was killed and his son, Hikmat was wounded in ANDSF operations in Ghormach district of Faryab Prov. Aziz Yuldash had been involved in terrorist attacks and slaughter of Afghans in the northern provinces."
