Sonu Nigam leaves Twitter after Abhijit suspended over his remarks on a woman
Mumbai, May 24 (IBNS): In a series of tweets, singer Sonu Nigam announced his decision of leaving Twitter on Wednesday blaming the social media as 'one sided', after Abhijit Bhattacharya was suspended by the social networking site for his 'objectionable' comments on a woman.
In one of the tweets, Sonu said that the social networking site is full of "some nationalists, some just cold blooded pseudos".
"People blessing you on one hand; and some wishing Death upon you. Even some young Girls and Boys and Kids behave like terrorists" (sic)" the singer added.
On the other hand, singer Abhijit's twitter handle was deleted by the social networking site after repeated complaints against him for an offensive comment against a JNU student, Shehla Rashid.
In the whole Twitter row, actor and MP Paresh Rawal also took a bit if limelight because of his comment on the author Arundhati Roy.
In a tweet, Rawal said that Arundhati Roy should have been tied in the jeep by the Army instead of stone pelters.
In a video released last month, a protester during an election in Kashmir was seen to be tied on the bonnet of a jeep by a Major to rescue the Army jeep easily and later the Major was honoured by the Army chief.
Though Rawal has deleted his post but it had already took the social networking site to a storm.
Apart from Abhijit, Sonu supported Rawal in a tweet and said that if "a woman can endorse a picture of Gautam Gambhir in the front of the Army jeep, why should he be mocked for doing exactly the same?"
Regarding Rawal's comment on the author, Sonu even said that if she has the right to have an opinion then billion of people have the right to "feel let down too".
